My Story

I don’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be a photographer. There is something magical about capturing the essence of what I see, feel and imagine through the lens of my camera. And it’s the same magic I’m hoping I can share with you.
My love affair with photography began with a humble 110 camera and the pure thrill of tearing open that first envelope of prints from the corner drugstore. As my cameras got bigger so did my aspirations as I took on assignments as a wedding photographer. After navigating a few career paths (and personal transitions), I shifted my ‘teaching skills’ from leadership to photography and pursued the exhilarating world of travel and adventure photography. Little did I know that my most incredible moments were just around the corner.
As Covid-19 began its disruption of the world, I longed to blend my passion for photography with inviting some joy into the life of others. My idea was to use photography to inspire a sense of wonder and adventure and to keep it simple.
How I Keep Life Extraordinary
As an Aquarius I’ve never been one to settle on just one thing. I crave variety and to keep life not boring I am constantly exploring. Here’s a little of what lights me up:
Spiritual
ღ Reiki practitioner offering reiki in my home studio and to COHA clients
ღ Avid crystal and nature lover, integrating both into my self-nurturing and Reiki practice
ღ Meditation, gardening and looking out the window into my backyard
Community
ღ Support those experiencing a life-ending illness, grief and bereavement as a volunteer with COHA
ღ Board of Directors, President for the Central Okanagan Hospice Association (COHA)
ღ Founder and host of Women, Wisdom ‘n Wine Collective
Philanthropy
ღ Co-founder of No Small Thing funding outdoor and recreational experiences for at risk youth in our community
ღ Practicing kindness and generosity to strangers, those I love and those I don’t yet know
ღ. Random and intentional donations to causes closest to my heart (there’s so many, I wish I could do more)
Love Relationships
ღ My parents and 2 sisters (plus spouses, kids and fur babies)
ღ My forever soulmate and life partner, Hugh (and his girls)

In a full circle moment, I have returned to my first love in a way that fuels my creativity and curiosity at a whole new level. My goal is to show you how to capture stunning photos that require little to no editing. Once you conquer the technical, developing your own unique creative voice as a photographer is where the magic begins.
